Fishing Loop

Fishing loop sign
Regan Rhoades/USFWS

Do you see the fishing loop sign on your right? To start this part of the tour, simply take a right at the fork. This route will add on about 1.5 miles to your trip and eventually reconnects with the Marshland Wildlife Drive. Here you will encounter different pools that you can not see while on the 7 mile loop. Frequent sightings include sandhill cranes, common loons, american bitterns, muskrat, beaver as well as a different view of the landscape. The loop closes on October 1st to allow for a safe and quiet place for migrating birds.
